...Was Modi Sarkar so bankrupt that it could not afford or avail the services of any top economists of the World to guide them in introducing or implementing the so called Demonetisation scheme which has created havoc in both rural and urban areas of India ?! Or is it an authoritarian decision which has been imposed on the public at large without gauging the pros and cons of such demonetization?! The PM’s singular decision clearly vindicates the allegations of the Opposition who are leveling this allegation of the PM unilaterally imposing his half-baked ideas on the public who have been rendered as guinea pigs. Had the services of able economists been availed, the anarchy and havoc created by demonetization could have indeed been minimized. ...

...The then Arch Bishop of Delhi Vincent Conçessao had desired that the INC participate in a debate in which Arvind Kejriwal would be the key speaker. Since the INC had decided not to participate officially (and I was not the Official Spokesperson at that time) I was asked by Shri Fernandes to represent the INC in that debate the very same evening. There were about 35 priests and nuns at the hall in the Archbishop’s residence. They either held some positions at the parish or were managing educational institutions run by the Church. The Principals of some very well known schools and colleges were present in the audience. Arvind Kejriwal entered a few minutes later. He had carried barfis for everybody, which I thought was a nice gesture. He took a few seconds to size me up and may have thought that I was far too insignificant since he didn’t pay me any attention at all till the debate began 20 minutes later. ...
